Hassan Dakroub

I have been a counselor at Lowrey Middle School since 1993.  Prior to that I taught in the Detroit Public Schools for over six years.  My last assignment in Detroit was at a vocational center in which I served as a bilingual advocate/counselor.  I have a B.A. in Business and marketing Education, a Masters Degree in Marketing and Business Education, and a Master's Degree in Guidance & Counseling from Eastern Michigan University.  I also earned a Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State university in 2002. My DISSERTATION dealt with The relationship between Arabic language literacy and academic achievement of Arab-American middle school students in English reading, language, and mathematics. In addition to my counseling duties, I serve on a number of school committees, one of which is the Parent Involvement Committee, which organizes monthly meeting to educate parents about the American Educational system and helps them get involved in the education of their children.  I also coordinate the activities of Project Pride at lowrey, which is a program that recognizes and honors the academic achievement of our students.
