District Solo & Ensemble Festival Update:
On Saturday February 1st, 2025, 16 Lowrey band and orchestra students
performed at the MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble Festival, held at Franklin High School in Livonia.
Students performed for adjudicators who are specialists on their instrument. Performers earn letter grades in five categories:
Tone, intonation, technique, rhythm, and interpretation.
Based upon the average of their letter grades, performers earn ratings of
I, II, III, IV, or V. Students receive medals for earring a I or II.
It is noteworthy that all of our Lowrey performers earned medals for their performance this year.
Earning a II for a very good performance were:
Tala Hobballah, Aya Harb, Yara Alaouie, and Zahra Yassir – Woodwind Quartet
Aya Hammoud – Flute Solo
Earning a I for an excellent performance were:
Rowan Aldilaimi, and Hala Almasri – Viola Duet
Lean AlTail, and Maya Fares – Trumpet Duet
Ahmad Hobballah, Hussein Ezzeddine, Hassan Mallah, Ahmad Mteirek, and Ali Mteirek – Brass Quintet
Hussein Ezzeddine – Trumpet Solo
Ahmad Mteirek – Trombone Solo
